Joan Elizabeth Cross (Bahr)
Joan Bahr Cross of Jericho Vt passed away peacefully at home late Tuesday night following a brief illness. Joan is predeceased by her husband James L Cross. She will be missed by her three children: Her two sons, Jim Cross and his girlfriend Clarissa Stitely of Jericho Vt, Joe Cross and his girlfriend Harriett Johnson of Montpelier Vt and Joe’s four children; Kemal Onor, Taner Onor, Erhan Cross, and Altan Cross as well as her daughter Jane Cross Lavanway and husband James Lavanway of Jonesville VT and their children James and Kate Lavanway of Jonesville VT.
Joan was born August 13 1940, in New Jersey and raised in The Bronx and Long Island NY. Joan graduated from Seton Hall High School in 1958 and was part of the 1963 graduating class from Trinity College of Burlington Vermont. She was a devoted teacher, powerful real estate broker for many years, as well as the first female car salesperson in New York State.
She will also be missed by her brothers and sisters; Carol Cronan of New Jersey, Cathy Kraebel of New York, Andrew Bahr of Vermont, Elizabeth Bahr of New York, and Kenneth Bahr of Vermont. Aunt Joanie will be missed by Liz, Mike, Johnny, Arlene, Brian, Ken, Kimberly, Jennifer, Adria, Jocelyn, Lisa, Dougie, Amy, Andy, Tina, Sarah, Max, Marci, Yanni, Diana, John, Billy, Christy, Mary Alice, Tony, Adrian, Sam, Pete, Tade, Kim, Tom, Lynn, Charlie, Loa, Josephine, and many others. We love you Joanie.
There will be a casual gathering of family and friends on Sunday, November 5 from 1pm to 3 pm at 30 Sunny View Drive in Jericho VT.
