I will remember David as the quiet, kind man who played Jacob in Lyric Theatre's 2013 production of Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Dave was also from Michigan and Nathan and I (new to Vermont) were relieved to meet someone who understood why we explained where we were from by pointing to our hands. As a testament to how truly kind and chivalrous he was... Dave was directed to possessively grab my behind at a certain point during a song. He couldn't do it. He wouldn't do it. We had a separate 30 minute coaching session wherein we repeatedly rehearsed the grabbing. He was NOT a fan. In the end, he simply put his arm behind me and I reacted as though I was being grabbed. ACTING! He is gone far too soon. I extend my deepest condolences to his entire family, most especially his wife Deb who is just as lovely, sweet and kind. If we cannot have Dave in our lives, may we all be a bit more Dave-like to all we meet.
