Obituary for Robert Gary Landry

Essex Junction - Robert Gary Landry, 75, passed away on Friday, August 10, 2018 at Vermont Respite House in Colchester. He was born on February 28, 1943 in Colchester, son of the late David and Marion (King) Landry. He married the former Janet Werlich on November 10, 1962 in East Hartford, Connecticut. He was employed with IBM for 30 years from 1965 to 1995. Robert was a lifetime member of the Essex Junction Fire Department and he was the go to member for rebuilding and modifying new and existing fire department equipment. He was also with the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) for 10 years as the facilities manager for the AMA NATS from 1984 – 1994 and attended annual completions all over the country with Janet. Bob was also a member of Champlain Valley Street Rodders (CVSR) for many years. One of his pride and joys was his Pretty N Pink, a 1928 Ford Sedan Delivery Street Rod. He enjoyed riding his Honda Gold Wing with Janet and at times with the girls. With friends, he also rode to Yellowstone National Park, Laconia NH and Lake Charles, LA.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Janet Landry of Essex Junction, two daughters Barbara Landry of Essex Junction and Louana and husband Torry “George” Tucker of St. George, two grandchildren Crystal and Robbie Parker, four great grandchildren Zoe Hall, Wyatt Hall, Lillian Parker and Carson Parker. He also leaves many special friends.

The family would like to thank the members of the CVSR Club for their tireless efforts in the assembling of Bob’s Factory 5 Hot Rod.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2018 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the A W Rich Funeral Home – Essex Chapel. Per Bob’s wishes there will be no funeral services held. Memorial contributions in Bob’s memory may be made to McClure Miller VNA Respite House.
