Message to the Family: I met Dora in Feb.2014, when she was a client at Mansfield Place, an Assisted Living Facility. My Mother-In-Law was just being admitted to same floor as Dora. She had been a widow for over 35 yrs, and was 90 at that time. She obviously was very upset & bewildered over leaving her own home in Ct., then our home in Vt. to a totally new environment. When we were finished doing all the paperwork, we went into the room to find Dora sitting on the edge of her bed, telling her that "she would be fine, and that it was a nice place to be". You would have thought they were related, as Dora later told me she "would 'keep an eye out for my Mother-In-Law'". She frequently walked her down to the dining room at the correct time, and accompanied her to Catholic mass etc. My husband and I will be forever grateful to Dora for her help, compassion, and comfort to our Mother, who is now 94 yrs old. Rest Peacefully Dora, We will NEVER forget you!
