Obituary for Caroline Marie Lambertz (Varenkamp)

Caroline Marie (Varenkamp) Lambertz, 99, of Jeffersonville passed away peacefully on Tuesday March 12, 2019 at Genesis Burlington Health and Rehab in Burlington. In 1941 she married Herman Lambertz and spent 70 wonderful years together until his passing in 2011. She was born in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania on September 27, 1919 daughter of the late William and Mabel Varenkamp. In her younger years she was a synchronized swimmer with the Ridgewood Acquacons Synchronized Swimming team in Ridgewood, New Jersey. She took pride in being a Girl Scout leader in Milton, New Jersey and volunteer with Rescue Squad in of Pequannock, New Jersey and also Milton First Aid Squad in Milton, New Jersey. She had been a member of Smuggler’s Notch 55+ club.

She is survived by her sons Glenn Lambertz and wife Kim of Prattsburgh, New York, Peter Hospodar and Moni of Cambridge, five grandchildren Ellsa Keller, Carey Anne Tanis, Amy Fidelis, David Lambertz, Holly Lewis and eleven great grandchildren. She was also predeceased by her daughter Janice Carol Lambertz.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday March 18, 2019 from 10:00 to the hour of service at 11:00 a.m. at A. W. Rich Funeral Home – Fairfax Chapel, 1176 Main Street, Fairfax, VT 05454. Burial will be in the spring at the convenience of the family.
