Jeffersonville – Rudolph Paul “Rudy” Erno, Jr., 85 passed away at his home on Monday, April 29, 2019. Rudy was born on December 11, 1933 in Morrisville son of the late Rudolph and Irene (Sweetser) Erno, Sr. Rudy was well respected for his service as head of the Cambridge Elementary School Board for 27 years. He was the owner of Rudy’s True Value Hardware Store in Jeffersonville for over 40 years. He loved golfing and camping. He was always working, especially on his home property. In his younger years he enjoyed helping out when he could on the family farm. He enjoyed his plumbing and electrical work as a master plumber/master electrician for over 60 years.

Rudy is survived by his loving wife of 66 years Eleanor (Tatro) Erno of Jeffersonville, his son Michael Erno and wife Danielle of South Carolina, three sisters, Hazel Carpenter of Jeffersonville, Arlene Jones and husband Carrol of Cambridge, Priscilla Fortin of Derby, sister-in-law Marlene Debole of Maryland, two grandchildren Robert and Jason Erno, several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2019 from 2:00 – 5:00 pm at A W Rich Funeral Home – Fairfax Chapel. A Funeral service will be held in June on Monday, June 17, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Second Congregation Church UCC of Jeffersonville. Inurnment will follow the services in the family lot in Jeffersonville Village Cemetery.
