Obituary for AJ

AJ
Alan G. “AJ” Hogue, Jr.

Essex Jct.

Alan Grey “AJ” Hogue, Jr., 19, passed away in University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, Vermont on Saturday, May 21, 2016 following a tragic motorcycle accident. He was born on July 28, 1996 in Leesburg, FL, son of Nancy (Russillo) Hogue and the late Alan Grey Hogue, Sr.

AJ was a very sensitive, loving, and creative young man. A free spirit, he was truly one of a kind and blazed his own path in life. Like his father, AJ had a passion and talent for photography, capturing images with an imaginative eye and also loved interior design. He was very adventurous and loved being active spending time in the woods; hunting; fishing; swimming; skate boarding; and snowboarding, and was an excellent marksman. His passion for cars and motorcycles, ATV’s and snowmobiling also kept him on the move. AJ attended Essex High School and was interested in pursuing a career in law enforcement following in his Dad’s footsteps. There are no words to describe how much his mother, sister, family, friends, and community will miss him, though we take comfort in knowing he is in a better place.

AJ is survived by his mother Nancy (Russillo) Hogue, his younger sister, Larissa (Lacey) Hogue, both of Danville, VT, and his older siblings Andrew Hogue, Heather (Hogue) Vickers, Steven Hogue, and Laura (Hogue) Lewis; his maternal grandmother Shirley Russillo of So. Burlington, VT; Uncle John Russillo, Jr. and wife Joan and their children Megan, Gina and Emma; Uncle Paul Russillo and wife Kim; Aunt Carol Postma and children Tim, Susan, and Melissa; Aunt Judy Norman and children Michelle and Robin; 13 nieces and nephews and his beloved cat Keifer “Sniffy”.

He was also predeceased by his maternal grandfather John Russillo; paternal grandparents Francis and Bernice Hogue and his Uncle Riccardo Russillo.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday May 26, 2016 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at A W Rich Funeral Home – Essex Chapel, 57 Main St., Essex Jct., VT 05452. He will be buried next to his father at David’s Cemetery in Kettering, OH. Memorial and funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 1st in the Chapel at David’s Cemetery. Donations in AJ’s memory may be made to the Kingdom Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 462, St. Johnsbury, VT 05819.
