Obituary for David Peter Dinsmore
David Peter Dinsmore, 66,of South Burlington passed away at the VNA Respite House in Colchester on Friday January 5, 2018. He was born in Highland Park, Michigan on September 23, 1951, son of the late David and Aileen (Putala) Dinsmore.
He graduated from Oakland University in Michigan and later moved to Vermont in 1979. He was a kind, gentle man who was loved by all who knew him. For many years he delivered friendship as well as mail to the people on his mail route.
He had a wonderful sense of humor that he loved to share with family and friends. He was always up for travel and adventure. Through the years he had varied interests which included skydiving, obtaining his pilot's license, sailing, folk dancing and motorcycle riding. He also enjoyed hosting family and friends at his camp on Lake Champlain and visiting his step daughter Katie and her husband Al on Maui. He loved Lyric Theater and performed onstage with his wife Deb in numerous productions as well as working behind the scenes.
David is survived by his loving wife of 24 years Deborah Dinsmore, step-daughter Katie Wilson and husband Alysson Grummt of Hawaii, 2 sisters, Catherine Dinsmore and husband Russ Cooke of Williston, Marilyn Gileczek and husband Al of Michigan, 6 nephews, AJ & Brian Gileczek, Todd Cooke, Paul Rosati, Skip Rosati, Neil Weller, 3 nieces, Hope Frettoloso, Emily Cooke, Jenna Gileczek, mother-in-law Betty Weller, brother-in-law Robert Weller and wife Jane, and many cousins.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, January 12, 2018 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at A.W. Rich Funeral Home – Essex Chapel, 57 Main Street, Essex Junction, VT 05452. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at North Avenue Alliance Church with Pastor Jim Stewart officiating.
